How exact age is calculated
We count the whole years from your birth date to the target date, then the remaining whole months, then the leftover days — correctly handling months of different lengths and leap years.

How is exact age calculated?
Full years first, then remaining months, then leftover days, accounting for month lengths and leap years.

Use the result with confidence
Choose the date you are comparing with
Enter a date of birth and, optionally, an “age on” date. Leaving the second field empty uses today on your device. This can help check an age on a school date or anniversary without repeatedly changing the birth date. A comparison date before birth clears the results.
Calendar years are not 365-day blocks
A birth date of 2000-01-15 compared with 2026-10-19 gives 26 years, 9 months and 4 days. Total days count actual calendar days, including leap days. Hours are a day-count equivalent (days × 24), not an elapsed time since a recorded birth hour.
Month-end and leap-day convention
For month-based ages, an anniversary falling past the end of a month is clamped to that month’s last day. A 29 February birthday therefore uses 28 February in a non-leap year here. This is a calculation convention, not a determination of legal age for a particular country or contract.
